UKRI is looking to get a better understanding of the challenges faced by Fintech companies and the Financial Services sector, in order to inform possible future public interventions.
The workshop will seek input from a broad set of stakeholders across the Financial Services and Fintech ecosystem, exploring the current landscape, barriers to research, innovation and adoption, as well as future directions and opportunities.
In particular, delegates will be invited to share their views on:
- The key challenges they are currently facing that can be solved by or relate to R&D/Innovation
- The barriers to innovation, investment, and adoption of Fintech solutions
- How these might be overcome and the role that different stakeholders have in supporting.
The workshop will be held online using a digital workspace designed to guide delegates through a series of short workshop exercises that encourage virtual collaboration in small groups. The session will also offer an opportunity for delegates to virtually meet with UKRI and KTN teams and other senior representatives from the Fintech and Financial Services sector working in R&D/Innovation projects.
Please note that places are limited; in order to ensure an optimal mix of attendees, registration will be managed via an Expression of Interest process. If you wish to be considered to attend the workshop, please complete the registration form by Monday 26 April EOP.
The applications will be reviewed by an internal UKRI selection process to ensure a diverse representation of attendees and a balanced representation of the Financial Services sector. UKRI are committed to a policy of equal opportunities. However, UKRI is hoping to improve attendance by underrepresented groups at workshops and will consider this when selecting attendees. Applicants will be advised whether their application to attend was successful by Thursday 29 April.
Who should attend?
We aim to seek input from people across the remit of UKRI who are able to give strategic advice on behalf of their community from a broad range of disciplines and verticals relevant to the Financial Services sector. Unfortunately, we are not able to consider students or the wider public at these workshops.
