Technology Leadership Council Meets with Secretary of State for Wales to Discuss Tech Growth in Wales

Technology Connected, the leading voice of Wales’ digital technology industry, hosted a high-level roundtable between its Technology Leadership Council and The Rt Hon Jo Stevens MP, Secretary of State for Wales, at Vantage Data Centers in Newport on 24 April 2025.

Chaired by Avril Lewis MBE, Managing Director of Technology Connected, the discussion explored how the technology sector in Wales can support the UK Government’s priorities and contribute to economic growth, public service innovation, and improved outcomes for citizens.

Vantage Data Centers served as a fitting venue for the roundtable – a powerful example of the innovation and investment taking place in Wales. As a global leader in hyperscale data centre infrastructure, Vantage has brought world-class digital capabilities to the region, supporting secure, scalable, and sustainable tech growth. Its presence underscores the ambition and potential of Wales’ technology ecosystem and the role such infrastructure plays in driving economic development.

The Technology Leadership Council is Technology Connected’s strategic advisory body, comprising senior leaders from across Wales’ tech ecosystem – from industry, academia, and government. Together, the Council acts as a powerful voice for the sector and provides expert insight to shape the future of tech in Wales.

The roundtable concluded with commitments to continued collaboration between government and industry to address challenges and maximise opportunities within the Welsh technology sector.
